Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 8 update, based on Android 16, for its Galaxy S25 series smartphones.
The update is currently being delivered to users in South Korea, with a broader release to the United States, United Kingdom, India, and other countries expected to follow shortly.
Details of the One UI 8 update
Following a beta testing period, Samsung is now releasing the final version of its latest software for the Galaxy S25 flagship lineup. The initial report of the rollout came from Tarun Vats.
The update package is approximately 3.8GB in size and carries the software version S938NKSU5BYI3, although this identifier may vary slightly by region. It also includes the September 1, 2025 security patch. The changelog highlights new features such as automatic call captioning and the “Now Brief” function.
Availability on other Galaxy devices
This release expands the availability of One UI 8, which was previously exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 series. Samsung has not yet announced which other devices will receive the stable update in September.
The company also plans to bring the One UI 8 Watch update to devices beyond the Galaxy Watch 8 series later this year.
