YouTube Music is testing a new “your daily discover” feature to provide personalized music recommendations based on listening habits, appearing on the app’s homepage. This functionality offers a focused method for exploring new music beyond existing automatic suggestions like covers and audiobooks.
Reddit user u/One_Flow_8127 identified the “your daily discover” section on the YouTube Music iOS app homepage. It is positioned above the “Trending songs for you” section and becomes visible after scrolling down the main feed. Screenshots shared by the user illustrate that these recommendations are presented in a horizontal carousel, allowing users to navigate individual tracks. Each recommended track includes a brief note detailing the reason for its suggestion. A “Play All” button is also integrated, which compiles the suggested songs into a single playlist for immediate playback.
The feature was initially observed approximately one month prior by Reddit user BarisberatWNR on YouTube Music for Android. However, the placement of recommendations on the Android homepage differed from its current positioning on the iOS version. This variation suggests YouTube’s experimentation with different layout configurations to assess user engagement.
The rollout of this feature appears to be limited, as numerous users participating in the original Reddit discussion reported not yet having access to it. This new tool is designed to facilitate user discovery of new artists and music that align with their specific tastes. Spotify, a primary competitor to YouTube Music, currently offers a similar feature named “Discover Picks For You” on its homepage.
