Why Galaxy S25 owners have to wait longer for their big update

The announcement, made on Samsung's Korean community forums, comes after a month of silence following the release of the third beta.

Samsung has confirmed that the stable release of its Android 16-based One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 series is delayed. Instead of a final version, the company will release a fourth beta build sometime next week.

The announcement, made on Samsung’s Korean community forums, comes after a month of silence following the release of the third beta. The long pause had led many testers to believe the stable update would be the next release. A Samsung beta operations manager apologized for the delay, assuring users that the extended testing period is intended to create a more stable and polished final product.

While Galaxy S25 users will have to wait a bit longer, the wider One UI 8 rollout is proceeding. The stable update has already begun for Samsung’s newest foldable devices, and new test builds have recently appeared for Galaxy S24 models in the US and Canada, suggesting their update is also approaching.

Beta testers have generally reported that One UI 8 feels more optimized and fluid, and includes key upgrades to AI features, DeX, and Good Lock modules. Despite the delay for the S25, the overall progress suggests the public release for recent flagships is not far off.
