Samsung has released an update to its LockStar module, part of the Good Lock customization suite, introducing a set of playful new fingerprint unlock animations. The update, targeted at devices running the upcoming One UI 8, adds several effects, including a water drop ripple, a ghost emoji that bursts into stars, and a starburst explosion that triggers upon unlocking.

These new animations add a layer of personalization to Samsung devices, and are reportedly popular among users testing One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 series. However, the feature is exclusive to the new software version. Users who have tried to manually install the updated LockStar app on devices running One UI 7 report that the new animations do not function.
