According to Android Authority, Google has implemented a new jump-to-top button within the Discover feed in its latest beta version. This feature appears when Discover is accessed via the launcher, but not within the Google app itself.
The button is present in version v16.28.59.sa.arm64 of the Google app beta. While some users engage in extended scrolling, this addition provides a faster method to return to the top of the feed.
The new button activates only when users access Discover by swiping right from the home screen launcher. It does not appear when Discover is opened directly through the Google application. Furthermore, the button becomes visible only when a user initiates an upward scroll, ensuring it does not obstruct content for users scrolling downwards.
This user interface adjustment aligns with similar functionalities found in other applications. The button’s consistent appearance across devices running the current beta indicates a broad rollout. This follows recent tests by Google involving bookmarks and AI summaries within the Discover feed.
