A leaked render, initially shared by @evleaks, suggests the forthcoming Galaxy Buds 3 FE will feature a design resembling the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, indicating a stemmed shape and silicone tips. This render, subsequently removed from X, provides the first visual representation of the device.

Unlike the base Galaxy Buds 3, which feature an open design without ear tips, the Buds 3 FE appear to incorporate a more traditional in-ear design. This design choice aligns with Samsung’s higher-end earbud models, potentially offering a more secure fit for users who found the base Buds 3 less suitable. The adoption of a design similar to the Pro model for a Fan Edition product may allow Samsung to offer a perceived premium aesthetic without a corresponding premium price point.

Evidence of the Galaxy Buds 3 FE’s development surfaced in June within Samsung’s Wear OS Buds Controller app. The device was identified with the model number R420 in the application’s code. This indicates the Buds 3 FE are distinct from the Galaxy Buds Core, which were released in India during the previous month. The Galaxy Buds Core are considered the successor to the original Galaxy Buds FE.

Specific details regarding the internal features and capabilities of the Buds 3 FE remain unconfirmed. It is not currently known if the earbuds will retain advanced functionalities present in the Buds 3 Pro, such as LED Blade Lights or sophisticated audio features. Samsung commonly adjusts features in its Fan Edition products, often omitting high-end codecs, multi-driver audio configurations, or advanced smart active noise cancellation (ANC) to achieve a more accessible price point for consumers.

Official information regarding the pricing and release date of the Galaxy Buds 3 FE has not been disclosed. The appearance of leaked images could suggest a potential launch in conjunction with Samsung’s next Unpacked event, possibly alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. However, the timing of the release remains unconfirmed.
