ElevenLabs now lets you make AI voices on mobile

ElevenLabs’ new app lets creators generate and download AI voice samples on mobile, eliminating reliance on the browser. It supports voice selection and expressive tag control.

ElevenLabs released a stand-alone mobile application for iOS and Android, enabling users to generate voice clips from text. This development provides a native mobile experience for a function previously available only through the company’s web application.

Prior to this release, individuals requiring artificial intelligence-powered voice samples from ElevenLabs’ libraries were limited to using the web-based platform. The new mobile application streamlines this process, allowing for on-the-go audio generation. Operation of the application involves typing or pasting text into the interface, followed by the selection of a suitable voice to produce the desired audio clip.

The free tier of the mobile application grants users access to approximately 10 minutes of audio generation. Users retain the flexibility to choose from various models, enabling a balance between cost efficiency and output quality. A shared credit limit is maintained across both the web and mobile applications for user accounts. The application integrates access to v3 alpha, ElevenLabs’ most recent text-to-speech models, which incorporate functionality for controlling expressive qualities through the use of specific tags.

Jack McDermott, ElevenLabs’ mobile growth lead, indicated that a substantial number of creators were already utilizing mobile web browsers to generate voice samples. These samples were subsequently integrated into videos using other applications such as CapCut, Instagram, or InShot. This existing demand prompted the company to develop a dedicated native mobile experience. McDermott stated, “Over the past year, we’ve seen an explosion of creativity from our community — content creators, marketers, educators, voice artists, and professionals using ElevenLabs to bring projects to life. Many have accessed ElevenLabs from mobile web browsers and asked for a faster, intuitive, more powerful experience built natively for mobile.”

This initiative positions ElevenLabs in direct competition with other voice cloning and generation tools, including Speechify and Captions. This mobile application represents ElevenLabs’ second consumer-facing product. The first, the Reader app, was launched last year, providing users the ability to listen to articles, blogs, PDFs, and e-books. Earlier in 2025, ElevenLabs expanded the Reader app’s capabilities, allowing publishers to distribute audiobooks through the platform.

ElevenLabs has outlined plans for future enhancements to the mobile application. These include the introduction of new features such as speech-to-text functionality and a conversational AI agent tool. The company also intends to integrate MCP-powered experiences, exemplified by 11.ai, into the application.
