Leaked: Is $566 far too much for AMD RX 9060 XT 8GB

Acer's unreleased Nitro Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB graphics card has appeared on a Swiss retailer's website listed at $566 potentially as a placeholder price.

The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB GPU has been listed on a Swiss retailer for $566, alongside the 16GB model priced at $620, according to @momomo_us (via Wccftech). These GPUs are expected to be unveiled at Computex 2025, starting May 20.

The listing, reported by Wccftech, shows the prices converted from Swiss Franc. However, it’s essential to note that these prices might be placeholders, as seen with the Radeon RX 9070 XT launch, which initially listed at $699 before being adjusted to $599.

If the $566 price for the 8GB model holds, AMD and its partners may face challenges convincing consumers of its value in 2025. The 8GB VRAM is considered underpowered for demanding triple-A games, a concern also raised with Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti 8GB variant.

Wccftech suggests that the listed prices are likely placeholders, as they also include RX 9070 XT GPUs above retail price. The current GPU market trend indicates potentially inflated prices, as seen in Best Buy’s GPU listings.

The 8GB GPUs are generally considered underpowered for today’s gaming demands due to limited VRAM. The market’s reaction to Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti 8GB variant has been negative, indicating that consumers are unlikely to overpay for underperforming GPUs.

The trend of partner cards and their prices suggests that the final retail price could be significantly higher than the listed price, potentially impacting the GPU’s market success.
