Fireflies.ai, a Khosla Ventures-backed AI-powered note-taking app, has released a set of domain-specific “mini apps” to automatically extract insights from meeting transcripts. The move aims to boost the app’s growth, following an 8x expansion in users and achieving profitability, according to co-founder and CEO Krish Ramineni.

The mini apps cater to various roles and use cases, including sales, marketing, recruiting, operations, and customer support. For instance, the BANT Sales App extracts details such as budget and timelines for sales teams, while the Agent Performance Feedback Generator provides insights and coaching tips for customer service agents.

Other examples include the Product Launch Planning App, which crafts a product launch strategy. These mini apps eliminate the need for users to write prompts to gather insights from meeting transcripts, a process that can be time-consuming. Ramineni told TechCrunch that Fireflies aims to close this gap and make users more productive by kicking off actions immediately after a meeting.

Users can send output from these mini apps to other platforms through integrations with tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, Asana, and Slack. For example, a meeting host can share a meeting summary with a manager on Slack once the meeting is over. Fireflies users can deploy these apps on a per-meeting basis and create their own customized apps.

In addition to mini apps, Fireflies is working to enhance meeting knowledge by introducing a meeting brief that informs users about participants and organizations. The company is also testing “digital twins” of users in meetings, which can respond to basic queries, similar to implementations tested by apps like Zoom.
