Airbnb has rolled out a new global standard for displaying prices on its platform, ensuring that guests worldwide can now see the total cost of their stay, including all fees before taxes, in search results starting April 21, 2025.

This move builds on Airbnb’s efforts to improve pricing transparency, which began in 2019 with the introduction of total price display in select countries. Two years ago, the company introduced an optional toggle for guests to view the total price, including fees, in over 200 countries and regions. Almost 17 million guests have used this feature since its introduction.

The total price display includes all fees before taxes, although in some countries and regions, taxes are included in the total price. The total price, including taxes, is always displayed before checkout. This change aims to make it easier for guests to compare listings and book stays that fit their budget.

To support hosts and guests, Airbnb has introduced several tools, including price tips, discounts, and a similar listings feature that allows hosts to compare average prices in their area. In the last year, over four out of five hosts used at least one of these tools, and more than 2 million hosts used the similar listings feature.

Some of the tools Airbnb has introduced to help guests save include search tips that highlight potential discounts for weekly or monthly stays. These tips encourage guests to add extra nights to their stay, potentially reducing the overall cost.

Airbnb’s global rollout of total price display reinforces its commitment to pricing transparency, aiming to create a more straightforward and supportive marketplace for both guests and hosts.
