WhatsApp has released a new iOS update, version 25.12.10.71, through the TestFlight beta Program, introducing a feature to browse channel photos, videos, GIFs, and links. This update aims to provide a consistent experience across both iOS and Android platforms.

According to WABetaInfo, The new feature allows users to access all shared content within a channel through a dedicated section in the channel info screen. This eliminates the need to scroll through the entire message history to find specific content, making the experience more efficient, especially for channels with a high volume of updates. The section is accessible to both channel admins and followers, enabling them to manage and review previously shared content more efficiently.

The channel media and links section provides a well-organized view of all media and shared content, separated by category for easier browsing. With categorized tabs for media and links, users can filter exactly what they’re looking for without needing to scroll through unrelated updates. Photos, videos, GIFs, and shared links are neatly organized in separate sections, making navigation faster and more intuitive.

This feature is currently available to some beta testers who have installed the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app and is rolling out to more people over the coming weeks. The update is part of WhatsApp’s effort to enhance the browsing experience, especially in channels with a high volume of daily updates, and may encourage more users to actively participate in channels.

The trial that could force Meta to sell Instagram and WhatsApp

Some beta testers have reported that they can access the dedicated channel media and links section, while others with the same version do not have the feature. According to WhatsApp, the feature is rolling out to more people over the coming days.
