Google announced today that its Gemini Live feature, which allows the AI to see and respond to what’s on a user’s camera and screen, is now free for all Android users via the Gemini app.
The feature initially launched earlier this month for Pixel 9 and Samsung Galaxy S25 users with the Gemini app, but was expected to be available to all Android users with a Gemini Advanced subscription. However, Google has since changed its plans.

“We’ve been hearing great feedback on Gemini Live with camera and screen share, so we decided to bring it to more people,” Google said on X.
The feature will be available to all Android users with the Gemini app, rolling out over the coming weeks. A video demonstration from Google shows the feature in action, with a person using their phone’s camera to show Gemini an aquarium, and the AI sharing information about the animals.
This move comes as Microsoft announced that its similar AI tool, Copilot Vision, is now available for free in the Edge browser.
