GoPro’s new Anamorphic Lens Mod for the Hero 13 Black camera is now shipping, letting creators capture a wider field of view without complicated editing. Priced at $129.99, this lens uses an optical squishing method to film in a 21:9 aspect ratio, adding cinematic lens flares.

The Hero 13 Black automatically adjusts to the correct camera mode when it senses the lens attached. Initially announced in September of last year, the anamorphic lens joined the $100 Ultra Wide lens and the $130 Macro lens, which both launched with the GoPro Hero 13 Black.

Starting next week, a $349.99 HB-Series Lens Collection bundle will be available. It includes all three lenses, the ND Filter 4-Pack (valued at $69.99) for capturing motion blur, and a protective case. Additionally, GoPro plans to release a $699.99 bundle “in Q2,” combining the HB-Series Lens Collection with the $399 Hero 13 Black.

iPhone 17 will come with the best selfie camera ever

The lens allows filming in various modes, including 5.3K at up to 60fps and 4K at up to 120fps for slow-motion footage. It also supports GP-Log in 10-bit. However it’s not optimal in low light, and it may produce softer images when objects are close to the lens.

The attachment adds some weight to the GoPro, though not excessively. Its front glass element is exposed, requiring careful handling to prevent damage; a lens cap is included for storage.
