Acer introduces new Predator Helios Neo AI gaming laptops

The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI offers up to a WQXGA OLED display with a 240 Hz refresh rate, while the Predator Helios Neo 18 AI includes a Mini LED panel with a 250 Hz refresh rate

Acer has expanded its Predator Helios Neo lineup with the launch of the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI and Predator Helios Neo 18 AI gaming laptops. The new models feature Intel Core Ultra 200HX series processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series laptop GPUs, designed to enhance gaming performance with AI-driven capabilities.

The laptops, announced in Katowice, Poland, come equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti laptop GPU. The Predator Helios Neo AI series introduces AI-assisted features for gaming and content creation, along with display options that include OLED and Mini LED panels.

Hardware and performance

The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI offers up to a WQXGA OLED display with a 240 Hz refresh rate, while the Predator Helios Neo 18 AI includes a Mini LED panel with a 250 Hz refresh rate. Both models support NVIDIA G-SYNC and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus for smoother gameplay.

Cooling technology includes Acer’s 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans, liquid metal thermal grease, and a Vector Heat Pipe to maintain system performance under load. The laptops also come with up to 64 GB of DDR5 memory and 2 TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. Connectivity features include Intel Killer Ethernet E3100G, Wi-Fi 6E, Thunderbolt 4, and multiple USB ports.

AI and gaming

The Predator Helios Neo AI series incorporates AI-driven optimizations, including NVIDIA DLSS 4 for performance scaling and ray tracing enhancements powered by 4th Gen RT Cores. The laptops also integrate Acer’s AI-enhanced software features, such as PurifiedVoice 2.0 for noise reduction and PurifiedView 2.0 for webcam image enhancements.

The devices ship with Windows 11 and include three months of PC Game Pass, offering access to a selection of games, including upcoming releases such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Pricing

  • The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI (PHN16-73) will be available in North America in April, starting at $1,899.99, and in Europe in May, starting at €1,699.
  • The Predator Helios Neo 18 AI (PHN18-72) will be available in North America in May, starting at $2,199.99, and in Europe in June, starting at €1,799.
