Nothing has confirmed that its launch event on March 4 will be for the Nothing Phone (3a) series, potentially unveiling more than one device, including the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus. This information was shared through a post on Twitter/X.

Nothing confirms launch event for Phone (3a) series

The announcement clarifies speculation about whether the upcoming models would focus on budget or flagship devices. The term “series” suggests a broader range of offerings, likely aligned with previous releases. A teaser video implies that the design will resemble the Nothing Phone (2a), featuring a centered camera module accompanied by three “Glyph” lighting sections.

Nothing’s co-founder detailed the target audience for the Phone (3a) series during a Community Quarterly Update. He stated, “For the (a) Series we have a different set of users. When people buy a smartphone some are looking for the greatest specs, they want the latest innovations and processors. Yet there are some other users that are equally excited about tech, but are happy with just a great user experience—that’s who the (a) Series is for. We’re really focused on the core user needs in terms of camera, screen, processor, and of course design.”

A leaked hands-on image of the Nothing Phone (3a) showcases a new camera module, featuring two existing lenses and a third lens anticipated to be a telephoto. This image, shared by @saaaanjjjuuu on Twitter/X, presents the device in a case but allows the camera module design to be visible, which closely resembles the Google Pixel 7 Pro’s camera layout. It is noted that the final design may differ significantly from what has been leaked.

Nothing’s strategic timing for the launch coincides with a potential release from Apple. Reports indicate that Apple plans to unveil the fourth-generation iPhone SE this Spring, making the March 4 announcement tactically significant. The event also aligns with the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

In recent communications, Nothing revealed that it has surpassed $1 billion in lifetime revenue since its inception in October 2020, with a significant portion of this revenue generated in 2024. Furthermore, the company confirmed plans for a Nothing Phone 3 later in 2025.
