Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025, according to leaks from Jukanlosreve on X (via Android Authority), which reveal the Galaxy S25+ features a design similar to its predecessor, the S24+. The device identification code for this model is “SM-S936U,” indicating a version designed for the U.S. market, which will feature mmWave 5G capabilities.

Reports indicate that the camera array might sport new black rings around the lenses, contrasting with the design seen in earlier models. Although the internal specifications are not expected to see major upgrades, the physical design elements have sparked interest. The Galaxy S25+ appears to maintain thin bezels around a rounded corner display without significant changes typical of a mid-cycle upgrade.

Hands-on images also show a feature below the volume and power buttons, initially speculated to be a new functional button akin to Apple’s camera control. However, further clarification from the source suggests this is another mmWave antenna for faster data processing. The slight repositioning indicates a focus on connectivity features while maintaining the overall aesthetics that are familiar to users of the Galaxy line.

Expected pricing changes for the Galaxy S25 series

While details on specifications remain vague, there is speculation that Samsung may implement a pricing increase for the Galaxy S25 series in certain regions. This potential increase comes amid ongoing discussions about the competitive smartphone market, where manufacturers grapple with rising costs associated with technology advancements. Despite no confirmed details from Samsung about pricing strategies, the expectations for a modest price adjustment have surfaced in industry feedback.

The anticipated unveiling will continue Samsung’s tradition of early January releases, a move aimed at capturing attention at the start of the new year. As leaks propagate and heighten consumer interest, Samsung is likely preparing for an event that showcases both design continuity and incremental enhancements.

Camera specifications for both the S25+ and the standard model are expected to remain unchanged, following a trend Samsung has established in its mid-tier offerings. With the focus on maintaining user familiarity, the design choices appear to reflect minimalistic updates rather than groundbreaking changes, which aligns with consumer preferences for reliable yet progressive technology.

Further leaks leading up to the launch will likely clarify aspects of the phone’s capabilities, including detailed camera performance and additional connectivity features.
