Samsung is reportedly developing an Audio Eraser feature for its smartphones, closely following the functionality seen in Google’s Pixel devices. This advancement aims to allow users to erase unwanted sounds from videos. The feature is expected to debut with One UI 7.

Samsung develops audio eraser feature for smartphones

Leaker Ice Universe shared details on Weibo regarding Samsung’s upcoming Audio Eraser tool. This new capability is designed to eliminate distracting audio elements, similar to the Google Photos Audio Magic Eraser. The release of the feature is anticipated in conjunction with Samsung’s next software update. A screenshot associated with the leak indicates that users will have control over multiple audio levels, presumably allowing adjustments for voices, wind, and other background sounds.

The leaked screenshot highlights several volume sliders for different sound elements, explicitly named voices, music, wind, and crowd noise. This interface may help users customize their audio experience significantly when editing videos. However, the design and functionality seen in the screenshot may not fully represent the final version of the Audio Eraser.

It remains unclear if this feature will be available at the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, which is expected in the coming month. Samsung’s implementation of the Audio Eraser could greatly enhance its AI suite by offering users a modern tool for video editing.

Samsung’s version aims to parallel the recent upgrades made to Google’s audio-editing capabilities, notably the enhanced Audio Magic Eraser found on Pixel 9 series devices. This upgraded tool allows users to separate different voices for improved audio management, a feature that Samsung’s Audio Eraser will likely attempt to replicate or innovate upon.

The introduction of the Audio Eraser will likely improve the video editing experience for Samsung users, particularly in noisy environments. Many smartphone users seek to produce clear and professional-sounding videos, influencing an increase in demand for advanced audio editing features. If successfully implemented, the Audio Eraser could provide a substantial edge in attracting consumers who value high-quality multimedia capabilities in their devices.

Additionally, discussions are ongoing regarding whether older flagship devices will support the Audio Eraser feature. Should it be successfully integrated, it would add considerable value to earlier models.
