The Panels and Fireside Chats are the places where conversation will flourish. Alongside the keynotes and deep-diving tech talks, these thought-provoking discussions cover both current issues, such as the refugee crisis and the ongoing debates and experiments on universal basic income, and hands-on approaches to Big Data in different fields: in health, in finance, and in entrepreneurship. The Startup Battle is where we give the stage to the next generation of innovators in booming fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and the Internet of Things, but also blossoming industries like HealthTech, and PropTech.
Day 1 (Data Science) –Â The Future of AI and Universal Basic Income +Â Big Data in Health
On Day 1 (Data Science), Prof.Dr. Hans Uszkoreit, Scientific Director at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, will moderate the a discussion between NiMA Asghari, Senior UAV Applications Expert at Drone Industry Insights, and Dr. Abdourahmane Faye, Big Data SME Lead DACH at HPE, as the Panel The Future of AI and Universal Basic Income. Â
Afterwards, we will have two very big names in the industry discuss Big Data in Health: Dan Sheldon, Lead Tech Strategist at NHS UK, and Bart de Witte, Director Digital Health DACH at IBM Deutschland
Day 2 (Tech Trends) – How to Build a Data-Driven Business + Startup Battle + Data and Migration + Big Data in FinTech
Day 2 (Tech Trends), has four events lined up. The first is an exciting panel discussion between Steven Lemm, Head of Data Science at Outfittery, Alex Rahin, VP Data and ML Platforms at Zalando, Andrew Clegg, Data Scientist at Etsy, and Alexander Weiss Head of Data Science at GetYourGuide. This panel, titled How to Build a Data-Driven Business, will be moderated by Jason Radisson, VP of Internal Innovation & Operations at Target Corporation.
Next up is the Startup Battle, where startups that focus on ML, AI, IoT will pitch in front of the audience and our judges Kathleen Olstedt, Manager Innovation & Cooperation at European Innovation Hub, Christoph Raethke, Director of Education at GTEC, Daria Markova, MD at Space Shack.
The following fireside chat deals with one of the prevailing topics in today’s political and social agendas: the refugee crisis. The fireside chat Data and Migration will feature Jasper Dag Tjaden, Data Analyst for Global Migration Data Analysis Center, and Lukas Streiff from the Steering Group for Strategic Communication at the German Federal Foreign Office / Auswärtiges Amt.
Last, but not least, comes the Big Data in FinTech panel, which features a mixture of newcomers to the FinTech space, represented by Devie Mohan, CEO of Burnmark, and Jacqueline Faridani, Associate Director of Quantitative Analytics & Credit Risk at VendorMach, and big, established players (from Berlin!) such as Dr. Steffen Wachenfeld, Managing Director at Savedo, and Christian Rebernik, CTO of Berlin’s FinTech darling N26
I, for one, wish I could see all of them. Instead, I will be running around, making sure everything’s running smoothly, and also doing interviews with our amazing speakers.
