Accenture announced recently that it has entered into an “alliance agreement” with Cloudera, a leading full-service provider of Apache Hadoop. The partnership will help Accenture give clients access to Cloudera’s enterprise data hub and allow customers to better utilise their big data and “compete in today’s increasingly digital world.”

Cloudera’s enterprise data hub is a place for clients to store and analyse data, with the ability to run a variety of enterprise workloads, including batch processing, interactive SQL, enterprise search, and advanced analytics. Cloudera’s expertise and leadership in Hadoop will give Accenture the capability to offer its clients an increase in the speed at which they “intake, access, and analyse data” and “enable real-time decision-making and data-driven outcomes.”

Narendra Mulani, senior managing director, Accenture Analytics , part of Accenture Digital, commented on the announcement last week: “Accenture has a strong focus on big data and open source technologies like the Hadoop ecosystem, which includes data mobilization, data management and data access at a large scale. Our new alliance with Cloudera,” he continued, “further emphasizes our commitment to build an emerging technology ecosystem that complements our existing alliances, offering our clients the greatest opportunity to drive real business results from big data.”

“Cloudera’s offering and vision for a data management platform aligns with Accenture’s digital, analytics, and big data strategy and requirements,” said Tom Reilly, chief executive officer of Cloudera. “This alliance benefits our mutual clients by combining Cloudera’s enterprise class software with Accenture’s deep industry expertise and global scale.”
