Smart Data Competition Background:
The German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy launched a smart data competition, aimed at supporting research and development in the Big Data Market. The focus is on developing services that will allow a very broad distribution of the benefits of Big Data early on. Winning the competition will result in a 50% grant.
Competition Requirements:
Any proposals should be easily handled in terms of data security and quality to enable broad industry application. Small and medium-sized businesses especially (the German “Mittelstand”), who have yet to understand the benefits of Big Data, should be targeted. The Ministry wants submissions that have the potential to become the prime example of Big Data application in smaller businesses.
Submissions:
Ideas should be submitted online, together with the application form. The deadline for submissions is April 15th 2014, noon.
